Confirmed False
A news aggregator site published a chart claiming national unemployment has reached 19 percent, "the highest in the country's history." The chart is attributed to the national statistics office and has circulated widely on messaging apps.

The chart carries the statistics office logo, but the logo is a low-resolution copy with visible compression artefacts. The typeface, colour palette and layout also differ from the office's official publications.
The national statistics office publishes its labour force survey every quarter. The most recent release puts unemployment at 4.6 percent, up from 4.3 percent the previous quarter. The chart's 19 percent figure appears in no official release, press statement or data portal entry.
The chart's time axis is also inconsistent. It shows quarterly data points for periods the office has not yet surveyed. A statistics office cannot publish figures for a quarter that has not been completed.
We asked the office's press team to review the image. They confirmed in writing that it was not produced by the office and that the 19 percent figure does not match any dataset. They noted this was the third fabricated chart using their branding in the past year.
The aggregator does not produce original reporting. It republishes content from social channels, often without verification. We found no correction, source link or author name attached to the article. When contacted for comment, the site did not respond.
Tracing the image back, the earliest copy we located was posted by an anonymous account three days before the aggregator ran it. That account had previously shared altered figures on inflation and wages. The pattern suggests a deliberate effort to stoke economic anxiety rather than an honest error.
Confirmed False
